Why is dual registry something that
you need for your dog? There are
multiple pure-bred dog clubs and registries in the United
States, and scores more worldwide.
In order to be able to breed your
purebred dog with a dog from another registry, you must
first have both parent dogs registered with the same
registry. AMW recognizes all other purebred
registries, and makes dual registration available. If you
have an AMW registered dog, and want to
breed it with a dog registered with another registry, all
you need do is dual register the second dog, and you can
register your purebred litter of puppies, assuring your
buyers of the pups' purebred lineage and history, and
lending more value to your puppies.
Many owners of pure-bred dogs
appreciate going outside of one singular established dog
registry, because individual breeders realize the
problems of in-breeding dogs too closely. These breeders
have found that infusing pure-bred lines from other
registries can help make puppies from this type breeding
stronger, and less likely to have in-bred genetic
defects.
AMW is not a
"show" registry, and most of our breeders are
working to produce good dogs that relate to original
breed standards of type and disposition, than to produce
the modified types winning at show - that change with
both the area of the country they are being shown in, and
what is in vogue in any particular year.
Individual dog owners will double
register their dog with AMW because they
are provided with a beautiful certificate of registry
that they can display proudly.
